Why We Love It: All of Cybele’s products are free of the top 8 food allergens, but that doesn’t mean they’re free of flavor. These brownie cookies are rich and chocolatey and free of the cardboard flavor/texture you get in a lot of allergy-friendly products. If you like chunky chewy cookies, these are for you.

Meet the Makers: Based in Los Angeles, CA, Cybele’s Free To Eat was started by cookbook author and mom Cybele Pascal. Cybele got into the business of allergy-friendly foods out of necessity. It all started when her infant son was diagnosed with severe dairy and soy allergies and they both had to go on strict elimination diets since she was breastfeeding (sound familiar, Moms?). Turns out her second son, husband and she herself also have food allergies so she was super incentivized to create delicious new recipes that they could all eat. www.cybelepascal.com

Fun Fact: Cybele first started working in restaurants at the age of 14 as a dishwasher. She signed up to be the vegetarian cook for 50 students at her boarding school at 15, and the next summer, she was promoted from dishwasher to cook. It all took off from there.
