Good with: Some gluten-free granola sprinkled in

Other Flavors: Black Cherry, Strawberry, Peach Mango, Vanilla

Why We Love It: For a non-dairy yogurt, Silk’s Fruity & Creamy products aren’t bad. The consistency is similar to dairy yogurt, although not quite as creamy. The flavor, however, is quite different from dairy yogurt, so if you don’t like the taste of soy, you won’t like this yogurt. For a sweet non-dairy high protein snack that won’t make you feel too full, this is a good snack or breakfast alternative, especially if you add some granola into the mix.

Meet the Makers: Based in Broomfield, CO, Silk started in 1977 as a tofu company, making soy-based foods such as meatballs, burgers, pizzas, salad dressings, and ice creams. Today, Silk is one of the top producers of non-dairy milks, including soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk and derivations of those milks like yogurt and creamer products. www.silk.com

Fun Fact: The founder of Silk (a contraction of the words milk + soy) was a spiritual “seeker” and spent a few years living in India before moving to Boulder to partake in the spiritual Buddhist-oriented community there. He began by making tofu in his apartment!
