Why We Love It: We so wanted to but we really don’t. At all. Ian’s products are allergy-friendly but that’s about all this pizza had going for it. Given we expect gluten-free and dairy-free pizzas to taste pretty different from their original allergen-filled counterparts, this pizza was just too unsatisfying and had the distinct flavor and texture of a highly processed food item. Add to that the poor macros and it felt like we were ingesting a whole lotta calories, fat and carbs without getting much nutritional value or flavor in return.

Meet the Makers: Based in Framingham, MA, Elevation Brands, LLC is the parent company of Ian’s Natural Foods as well as Blue Horizon Wild, which provides frozen seafood products. Ian’s itself started out in 2003 with the introduction of the first allergy-friendly chicken nuggets and fish sticks to the market. Since then, they have expanded their product offerings to include breakfast items, desserts, pizzas, snacks and breadcrumbs, and offer a variety of allergy-friendly options including gluten-free, egg-free, nut-free, dairy-free, vegan and soy-free.

Fun Fact: Ian’s has their own fun version of a french fry: Alphatots, formed in the shape of the letters of the alphabet 🙂
