Why We Love It: Salt, Fire & Time specializes in therapeautic peasant food medicine traditions. Does it get any better than that? Their bone broths are nutrient dense, and healing to your gut and your immune system. About 70% of your immune system is controlled by your gut, so keeping it healthy is key. Drinking bone broth allows collagen to repair your gut lining, and strenghthen your immune system. This broth uses chicken from local farms that only raise animals free range without the use of antibiotics or hormones and simmer them for as long as 72 hours with carrots, onions, and raw cider vinegar to flavor the mineral richness that slowly steeps into this rich gelatinous bone broth.

Meet the Makers: Tressa, the founder of Salt, Fire and Time, is a graduate of Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC, and has had her fair share of working in restaurants and farmers’ markets. She started Salt, Fire and Time in 2009 in Portland, Oregon, where she sold traditional healing foods to the local community. Her and her Production Manager, Brian, are a true and honest vision of healing foods. They believe that whole foods and meals made from scratch heal, and believe in sustainability, seasonality, regionality, trust and transparency in our food culture. They work exclusively with local farms to source their ingredients, and with local companies for what they cannot.

Fun Fact: Besides selling great products, they also offer classes and services, and cater events! You can see for yourself by taking a look at their full list of services.
