Other Flavors: This is the only variety they sell to the general public right now (and only through Costco), but they are coming out with other grain blends (including raw and organic) soon!

Why We Love It: It is healthy, tasty and easy to prepare. We absolutely love quinoa for its fluffy consistency and its health benefits (protein, fiber, loads of minerals), and ancient grains are all the rage right now since they’re gluten-free and have way more health benefits than your traditional carbs like bread, corn and rice. This blend contains 3 simple organic ingredients: quinoa, amaranth and millet. It is crunchier than just quinoa by itself, so if you are into the smooth fluffiness of quinoa or rice this may not be for you, but we liked the extra texture. What a great find…and at Costco no less!

Meet the Makers: Sonoma Valley Farms is located in California’s rich food heartland where health and innovation meet. The roots of the company trace back 4 generations with 3 generations of the family currently working together under the same roof. Their business to date has mostly been for bulk industrial users and the food service sector, but now they’re branching out into retail with healthy rices and grains that are available to the everyday consumer. Yay!

Fun Fact: Using the same California processing plant they use now, the Sonoma Valley Farms family manufactured over 20 million healthy authentic Japanese style organic bentos for the Rail and Air travel systems in Japan.
