Why We Love It: Often when people think of liver, they’re not thinking “yum!”… until now! We know that liver isn’t a staple in a current western diet, however, your grandmother may have been onto something when she tried to get you to eat this part of an animal. Liver is an “epic source” (pun intended) of vitamins E, K, A, D, and B12, along with iron, copper, protein and folic acid. Although we did find the bar a bit on the salty side, the taste was spot on! Since it’s a mixture of both liver and beef, the flavor wasn’t too heavy on the liver side. It was a perfect combination in a bar that truly felt nourishing to every inch of our bodies!

Meet the Makers: The founders of Epic Bar, Katie and Taylor bounced around from vegetarian to vegan to raw foodist, but couldn’t figure out why all of these diets were making them sick. Then they stumbled on the “paleo” diet, and everything changed for them. Once they began eating healthy animal fats, grass-fed protein and leafy greens, they were instantly healed! They realized the paleo diet wasn’t an easy one to follow, especially when traveling, so they decided to take matters into their own hands, and EPIC was born.
