Why We Love It: You’ve gotta like spicy to enjoy this jam, and we like spicy! The sharp spiciness of the habanero is a great base for the sweetness of the peach, and yes, you really can taste the peach flavor – it’s not just a generic sweet flavor that many jams have. The spiciness is a steady heat (unlike some peppers that hit you after 5 seconds or grow in heat with each bite), and is beautifully complemented by a creamy condiment like cream cheese or a cheese plate. All of their jams are gluten-free and vegan, as well as non-GMO.

Meet the Makers: Diane’s Sweet Heat was started over 20 years ago by best friends Betsy and Diane. They didn’t have much money to spend on holiday gifts but wanted to do something special for their family and friends, so they found a recipe for jalapeño jelly and made it as their gift. Needless to say, their friends loved it and it became a holiday tradition, with Betsy and Diane modifying the recipe each year and switching up the peppers and fruits. Diane’s Sweet Heat was born after Diane gifted a jar of fruit habanero jam to wedding guests at her daughter’s wedding and the response was overwhelming. Today, their jams are still made in Arcata California, a small town in Humboldt County.

Fun Fact: Some creative uses for their jam includes using it as an ice cream topping, and as a marinade for meats and vegetables!
