Good with: A little salt & pepper and your favorite protein.
Veggie combinations: Super Greens, Vegetable Medley, Fiesta Quinoa, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower and Green Beans, Root Fusion, Natural Greens with Uncured Bacon (non-vegan), Asparagus with Uncured Bacon (non-vegan), Sweet Potatoes
Why We Love It: Oh the convenience. Having these seasoned, pre-cut frozen veggies in my kitchen that were ready to be eating in 5 minutes made me realize how much time I spend chopping and seasoning veggies. And I eat a lot of veggies. And for the times I was feeling super lazy, some of these veggies can even be microwaved IN THE BAG they come in. How’s that for convenience? Now you may be thinking, but isn’t it healthier to eat fresh veggies rather than frozen veggies? Don’t get me wrong, I love my farmers market veggies, but frozen veggies that are flash frozen (frozen quickly at low temps) actually have the potential to contain more nutrients than their fresh counterparts because they are picked at their peak, rather than fresh veggies which are often picked a bit before their nutritional peak so that they can survive the journey to the market. All of the veggie combinations are non-GMO and some are organic.
The only downside is that once defrosted and prepared, the texture of these veggies is a bit different from if they had been cooked from scratch, especially if you’re going for the microwave-in-the-bag preparation option. They’re a bit mushier. Also they intentionally don’t have a lot of salt in the seasonings, so I had to add salt and pepper to every veggie variation.
