Why We Love It: This granola isn’t too different from many other granolas out there that we’ve tasted. It’s high in protein and healthy Omega-3 fats due to the pumpkin seeds and flaxseeds, but also has sugar listed as its second ingredient. It’s in line with other granolas in terms of number of carbs per serving. The flavor is good but could benefit from being part of a bigger breakfast dish, like a yogurt parfait, or a fruit cup, since the flavor isn’t too sweet or unique. One thing that made an unexpected difference was the milk carton container, which made it super easy to pour, especially when pouring it over something like fruit or yogurt. It’s also non-GMO verified, which is a nice added benefit. Although this granola is made with ingredients that don’t contain gluten, the product has not been labeled gluten-free due to cross-contamination concerns.

Meet the Makers: Based in the Willamette Valley, OR, Sweet Home Farm was founded over two decades ago and is now part of the Attune Foods family (see our review of their Crispy Brown Rice cereal). Sweet Home Farm makes a variety of whole grain non-GMO granolas, all packaged in their iconic recyclable milk carton container.

Fun Fact: Attune Foods, Sweet Home Farm’s parent company, evolved from Erewhon, one of the founding members of the natural foods movement in the 1960’s!
